Thinkific and PrepOS: Test Your Question Workflow

Start with what Thinkific already supports

Thinkific documents multiple-choice quizzes, answer explanations, file imports and randomized question banks. It should not be dismissed as video hosting without assessments. Features and limits depend on the builder and plan; check the current quiz documentation.

Run a ten-question pilot

Use questions from your own curriculum: a diagram question, a calculation, several common misconceptions and one item that needs revision. Build the same small lesson in both shortlisted platforms.

1. Check that every correct answer and explanation survives entry or import.
2. Answer incorrectly as a learner and inspect the feedback.
3. Reuse a question in a second practice set. Establish whether edits update a shared item or only a copy.
4. Compare how you find questions by topic and distinguish drafts from reviewed content.
5. Ask a colleague to identify what a learner should practise next from the available results.

Record the actual work involved. A missing feature, an unfamiliar menu and a configuration task are different findings.

Separate practice from a mock exam

Your lesson quiz may need immediate explanations and repeated attempts. A mock exam may instead require controlled timing, delayed feedback or a specific marking scheme. Write those requirements separately and demonstrate them in the exact package you would buy.

Do not infer exam security, official scoring equivalence or improved exam results from either product’s feature list.

Decide from the pilot

Thinkific remains a candidate when its course and quiz workflow meets your needs. Evaluate PrepOS when reusable academic practice is central and you want to scope content setup or migration help. Use the platform comparison and pricing to prepare questions, not as substitutes for the pilot.
